Food allergy test

Each person has a difference degree of food allergy. The signs and symptoms of food allergy include urticarial rash or asthmatic attacks as it is the way that body reacts to the allergic component, which tagged by Immunoglobulin E (IgE). It gives immune-mediated reactions or food allergy symptom, which will immediately occur after eating allergic food.

Another reaction that may occur in several hours or day after the allergic component tagged by Immunoglobulin G or IgG. That gives immune-mediated reactions or food intolerance. This kind of reaction caused by consuming the same food that makes the body produces IgG to react the allergic component.

The degree of allergic in each person is different. The common symptoms are skin rash, fatigue or drowsiness. The long term in protein such as boiled egg, chicken meat or whey protein consumption for muscle gain purpose can also stimulate hidden allergies in foods and it may cause colon inflammation that affects absorption system and lack of muscle gaining.

The foundation of the test is to coat the glass slide with “Capture Antibody” Then use the Antigen from different kinds of foods to bound the Capture Antibody on the surface of a glass slide. The Antigen come from Thai and ASEAN foods include seafood, vegetables, fruits, meats, nuts and grains, spices, and etc., and they will be used to find the food intolerance in Thai people.

The principle of MicroArray IgG testing

The blood sample will go through the IgG or Detecting Antibody process then the sample will be dropped on the glass slide to specify the allergic components that bound to the antigen. Then drop the secondary antibody and color substrate. The degrees of IgG level are high reaction, moderate reaction and no reaction.

Interpretation of results

Level of IgG indicates the degree of food intolerance. The results are analyzed by MicroArray machine without personal bias. The degrees of IgG level are high reaction, moderate reaction and no reaction.

After getting the results, the physician will give the recommendation regarding the diet plan to the patient to cure the food intolerance problem, which is different in each person. The common recommendation is: not to consume the food in high and moderate reaction and to practice diet rotation in no reaction.

If the patient strictly follows the physician recommendation for 6 months, it is found that the food intolerance in patient is lower or no more reaction.

The diet rotation plan lets the patient consume different kinds of food and to avoid the reaction of any specific foods. However the plan should be designed by nutritionist.

At the early period of changing diet plan, withdrawal symptoms may occur, the symptoms include headache and food hunger. If these symptoms occur, the patient should consult the physician to apply holistic and integrative medicine by using vitamin or supplement therapy.

For patient who wants to gain the muscle and found the hidden allergic in any foods. The food that may affect the colon inflammation should be avoided for 3-6 months.
